IMRO Venue Awards.

Bonjour tout le monde!   On Tuesday 26th of February, I went to IMRO Venue Awards. For those who don't know what IMRO (Irish Music Rights Organisation) is, it's    a  'national organisation that administers the performing right in copyright music in Ireland on behalf of its members and on behalf of the songwriters, composers and music publishers of the international overseas societies that are affiliated to it' (Thanks Wikipedia). The night started with a band, called Pillow Queen  that is composed of 4 girls from Dublin. I would describe their music as rock/indie.  Then, a band called Moncrieff , played. The voice of the main singer remind me a bit of Hozier's voice. They described their genre as 'Neo Noir'. The last band, called Inhanler . Everybody was expecting them as the main singer, Elijah Hewson, is the song of Bono from U2. They're a young band as they only have a song or two released. But during the night, they sang 4 songs...

The 1975 - The Garage, London

Bonjour tout le monde! I hope everybody had a lovely week and is enjoying this nice weather. Last Sunday, I went on a little trip to London to see The 1975's gig at the Garage, organised by War Child. Yes, I travelled from Dublin to London just to see this band ( see how a music lover I am..). I spent most of my Sunday in Central London and in the evening, I watched a movie called  "A Private War" ( and I advise everybody to see it). ANYWAY.  On Monday morning, I woke up super early ( 5am) and started to queue around 7am (16 people were already in the queue. The Waitrose next to the venue kindly offered us some food, as we were waiting in the rain. Around 1pm, one of Matty's staff gave us a wristband ( with a number) and told us to come back around 6:30pm ( which I thought was a great idea, instead of waiting all day). We went to a lovely vegan restaurant called VX London (that serve junk food, If any of you is interested,  here is the link, there are als...

Introduction

Bonjour. I thought It would be great to have my first post as an introduction. As you can see by the name of my blog I'm French. My name is Camille and I'm 20 years old. I'm currently based in Dublin, studying Music Business. in 2017, I took a gap year. I lived in London for 8 months. I started by first, being an au pair for two months. Then the family didn't need me anymore so I decided to look for a job instead of going back to France. First, I worked in a pub (which I hate) so I quitted and then I worked for a big venue. After that, mid- September, I moved to Dublin (where I still live, at the moment) and I'm currently studying Music Business. Those are the main events in my life. This blog will be mainly about travels and tips ( as I travelled a lot and I still do) and about music. See you in my next blog post. xoxo
