IMRO Venue Awards.

 Bonjour tout le monde!

On Tuesday 26th of February, I went to IMRO Venue Awards. For those who don't know what IMRO (Irish Music Rights Organisation) is, it's  a 'national organisation that administers the performing right in copyright music in Ireland on behalf of its members and on behalf of the songwriters, composers and music publishers of the international overseas societies that are affiliated to it' (Thanks Wikipedia).
The night started with a band, called Pillow Queen that is composed of 4 girls from Dublin. I would describe their music as rock/indie.
Then, a band called Moncrieff, played. The voice of the main singer remind me a bit of Hozier's voice. They described their genre as 'Neo Noir'.
The last band, called Inhanler. Everybody was expecting them as the main singer, Elijah Hewson, is the song of Bono from U2. They're a young band as they only have a song or two released. But during the night, they sang 4 songs which sounded a bit like U2, but you would expecting that. Even though what they're doing are really good. You can have a listen below.
All the band that were singing were from Ireland (of course) but they played very well. You should definitely give a listen If you're into Rock/indie. Ireland have amazing artists, in my opinion and that night showed it perfectly.

In others news, the awards were given throughout the night. The main winners were  :

IMRO National Live Venue of the Year 2018 – The Sugar Club, Dublin

Anne-Marie - Hammersmith Apollo.

Bonjour tout le monde. A few nights ago I went to see Anne-Marie at Hammersmith Apollo. Not like my previous concert, I was at the back. I have to say, It was quite difficult to see Anne-Marie as I'm small and I only had tall people in front of me. The support act of Anne Marie was Lennon Stella, she is quite well known as one of her song, "Polaroïd" featured the famous singers Liam Payne and Jonas Blue. Unfortunately, me and my friends miss half of her show but from what I've heard, she seems lovely. Like every other show, Anne Marie and her band came 30 minutes after the support act. She first started to sing "Bad Girlfriend" and couple of songs on her latest album " Speak Your Mind " that came out last year. My friends were having so much fun as they went to the see her in many cities around Europe so they knew every detail of her show. During Rockabye, Anne-Marie chooses a fan to sing Sean Paul's part and the fan did an incre...

Foals - Manchester

Bonjour tout le monde! On the 4th of March, I went to see Foals at Gorilla (Manchester). ( Did I just travelled from Dublin just see them and that I didn't sleep for 48h? Well... yes...). Anyway. It was just insanely good, let me tell you that. It's good to have Foals back especially in those intimate shows. There was no support act and Foals came on stage at 8:30pm. It was such a small venue ( 400 capacity). There was no barrier and I was literally in front of the mic ( I couldn't believe it). Anyway, all of them came on stage. You can see on the setlist that they started with a track from their new album. They sang 3 unreleased songs from their album " Everything not saved will be lost. Part. 1 " at the time. As their music is indie/rock/punk you can imagine that Yannis (the lead singer) interacted with the crowd (stage diving during the rockie songs as well as walking throughout the crowd and going at the back with his guitar and literally jump in the c...

The 1975 - The Garage, London

Bonjour tout le monde! I hope everybody had a lovely week and is enjoying this nice weather. Last Sunday, I went on a little trip to London to see The 1975's gig at the Garage, organised by War Child. Yes, I travelled from Dublin to London just to see this band ( see how a music lover I am..). I spent most of my Sunday in Central London and in the evening, I watched a movie called  "A Private War" ( and I advise everybody to see it). ANYWAY.  On Monday morning, I woke up super early ( 5am) and started to queue around 7am (16 people were already in the queue. The Waitrose next to the venue kindly offered us some food, as we were waiting in the rain. Around 1pm, one of Matty's staff gave us a wristband ( with a number) and told us to come back around 6:30pm ( which I thought was a great idea, instead of waiting all day). We went to a lovely vegan restaurant called VX London (that serve junk food, If any of you is interested,  here is the link, there are als...
