Travel - Iceland.

Bonjour tout le monde!

Last week, I went to Iceland on my own. It was the best experience in my life, being alone in such a beautiful country. In this blog post, I will talk about my trip but also giving you tips If you wanna go on my budget (like I did).

TRANSFER :

I arrived on the 20th of March. To go to Rekjavik, you either rent a car or if you don't have a driving license, download the app "Strætó" (the bus app) and It will tell you to take the bus 55 that will take you to Reykjavik center ( It will cost you approximately 14euros)

STAY :
I rented an airbnb that cost me 360euros (which was less expensive than a hotel and only 20 minutes by walk from the center). Or you can stay in a hostel and make friends from all over the world!  I spent the first 3 days in Reykjavik (mainly buying gifts for my family) but I also walked around in Reykjavik.

MUSEUMS/ ACTIVITIES :

Unlike the UK and Ireland, (National) Museums are not free. You have to pay something between 5 and 8 euros. Or you can buy a pass for approximately 23 euros (which will also allowed you to take buses, and go to some swimming pools). The most interesting museums that I did was the National Museum of Iceland which is all about the history of Iceland. You can also good to Harpa Concert Hall and grab a Reykjavik guide (which was very helpful for me) and have a beautiful view of the mountain!

If you are in Reykjavic for the weekend, I advise you to go to the Flea Market . You can find souvenirs cheaper than the traditional souvenirs shops. But If you wanna buy food for your relatives or even yourself (to try it out), I recommend you to buy it in Bonus. At the Flea Market, you can find anything, from handmade jewlery to toys.

DRINK  :
When It comes to drink, well, you can download the app Appy Hour that will tell you all the information on daily happy hour in Reykjavik, If you really wanna try the traditional Icelandic beer. Or like myself, don't drink during your stay and your body will thank you (also your wallet)!

FOOD  :
When It comes to food, I bought it before going to Iceland. I simply went to Aldi and bought my food so that I don't need to buy it in a shop in Iceland (where, you'll probably pay a overseas fees with your bank as Iceland have their own money. Plus, you can put the money that you buy for food in Iceland into something else)

If you wanna try Icelandic Food but you're on a budget, I advise you to try two "restaurant" (which have the same name).
First : 101 Reykjavik Street Food. They do 8 different Icelandic meals for the same price (12euros or 11 pounds). The food is very nice and If you want a refill, you can ask for it.
The other one is Reykjavik Street Food ( the most famous one) : They do one main dish which is Lamb or Shellfish Soup. You can have eitheir in a bowl with some bread (for 12 euros) or in a bread bowl (15 euros). They also do "street treat" which include Kleinur (a traditional Icelandic treat) (for 3 euros) or Solva Chocolate (for 6 euros)
The funny thing is, their house rule is "No one leave hungry", so If you wanna have a refill, you can ask for it, (no matter how many times!)

 Goint out of Reykjavik :

If you have a driving license, then I recommend to hire a car and go around Iceland. Go to the South Coast and the Golden Circle. But If, like me you don't have a driving license, then I recommend to go to the South Coast and the Golden Circle by bus. All the thing you can do, can be find here  (summer and winter)
Also a blog that helped me throughout my stay, will help you too.
I didn't do the Blue Lagoon, but the Secret Lagoon, instead.

I bought a package that included the Golden Circle, Secret Lagoon and the Nothern Lights (which I didn't see so now I've got a voucher for a year) that cost me €132.  But I'm sure you can buy only the Golden Circle tour with the Secret Lagoon. Otherwise, I did the South Coast ( which was very interesting as the tour guide told us some facts about Iceland, throughout the whole journey) which cost me €69.
Also people need to be aware of the fact that when you go to a swimming pool, you have to shower naked. And, in the winter, you have to be mentally strong to do the walk between the changing room and the swimming pool itself because it is very cold.
I advise to try these thing at least once. If the Blue Lagoon is too expensive then you can try the Secret Lagoon.

For 7 days, I had a budget of €450 and I didn't spend all of it. So be wise and make the right choice!

I also vlog my trip. You can find the video here .

Here's some photos of my journey :

Anne-Marie - Hammersmith Apollo.

Bonjour tout le monde. A few nights ago I went to see Anne-Marie at Hammersmith Apollo. Not like my previous concert, I was at the back. I have to say, It was quite difficult to see Anne-Marie as I'm small and I only had tall people in front of me. The support act of Anne Marie was Lennon Stella, she is quite well known as one of her song, "Polaroïd" featured the famous singers Liam Payne and Jonas Blue. Unfortunately, me and my friends miss half of her show but from what I've heard, she seems lovely. Like every other show, Anne Marie and her band came 30 minutes after the support act. She first started to sing "Bad Girlfriend" and couple of songs on her latest album " Speak Your Mind " that came out last year. My friends were having so much fun as they went to the see her in many cities around Europe so they knew every detail of her show. During Rockabye, Anne-Marie chooses a fan to sing Sean Paul's part and the fan did an incre...
